Lizzo’s album “Special” is my weekly love.

It is special. Not to overstate it, but Lizzo is a special artist. Not that she needs me to say that.

I gotta confess it was my teenage daughter that turned me back on to Lizzo. I only wish I hadn’t been so slow to the party.

Her lyrics are refreshingly real – talking about everyday life + challenges, with honesty, spirit and heart – that makes a lot of other pop vanilla.

I love the way she musically genre-hops around songs like “About Damn Time, “I Love You Bitch” and “Naked” with a joyous force throughout.

I’m definitely team “lizzbian”
